7/1 Lumber for bridge arrived

7/2 Cook Foo arrived on #21

7/3 Carpenters finished bunkhouse. Went to Santa Barbara on #22

7/4 Fire on other side of San Augustine—big scare

7/5 Harry, Frances kids came on #21 home on #22.

7/7 Went over new home site at Winchester

7/11 Four carpenters finished bridge

7/12 Hauling alfalfa hay.

7/13 Started new bridge, tearing down barn

7/14 Went to Lompoc re deflectors; John Williamson came home with me.

7/16 Jim Foo pulls out; Uke arrives

Bill Eddington brought over mules

7/19 Grasshoppers leaving beans and mating

7/21 Fought fire at San Augustine

7/25 Grasshoppers eating beans.

MARCH

3/1: Left Santa Barbara for Sacramento. Quit smoking

3/2 Saw Harry off to El Paso and saw Fuller about Santa Anita..

3/3  Left for San Francisco

3/16 In Sacramento with Dot and children, working on plans for the house at Bulito with [architect] Walter Danforth Bliss. Was sick for three days

3/17 Left for Santa Barbara

3/19 Arrived Santa Anita 8:30 pm Looking over a building site with Williamson.

3/21 Back to Santa Barbara. Rained hard all day. Stayed at Jennie’s, until March 27th. Held first meeting of Hollister Estate Company (HE co), and elected officers,.

3/28 Went to Lompoc. Picking up Ellie Moore at Naples

3/29 Went over Slasipuedes ranch with Ellis. Pretty ranch, with great possibilities.

3/30 Back to Santa Anita. Walking on over to Bulito. Met Williamson.

3/31 Spent the day at Santa Anita with Fuller and Dynart, a butcher. Rode over the ranch.

FEBRUARY

2/7 After interviewing several people, guess there is nothing doing in ranch line. Left for California over the Pennsylvania to New Orleans and El Paso. Miserable train.

2/11 Reached El Paso. Harry, Bud, Frances and little Hal arrived at el Paso from the ranch. Little Hal has diptheria at the hospital.

2/13 Left for Los Angeles.

2/15 Arrived at San Francisco; telephoned Dot who met me. Talked with Selah. Little encouragement on Santo Domingo business.

2/19 Went downtown with Dot and kids and bought wagon for twins.

2/22 Reached Santa Barbara 10 20 am At Jennies. Talked over Dot’s and my ranch scheme. Harry came up from El Paso, 11:35 pm.

2/23 at Jennie’s. Completing Incoropratin of Hollister Estate Company.

2//24 At Jennies. Kids, Jack and Joe with colds. Trying to sell Salsipuedes.

2/26 At Jennie’s. Looked over 62 acre tract.

2/28 Rode to San Onofre and Arroyo Hondo in automobile with Clint and Harry.

On January 5, 1905, at El Paso, Texas, H.A. Hollister was married to Miss Frances H. Harper. Stanley, born April 18, 1808, To them were born three sons, Harold Albert, Jr., October 7, 1905, residing onthe ranch at Goleta, and to Francis Grahanm, born December 19, 1913,
